Rapunzel
Written by Cath Moyse - Wed 14th Feb 2024
And just like that, in the blink of an eye, we are in Pantoland. Welcome to the magical kingdom of Brushington.
Last night was the final dress rehearsal and the first time for me to see all the elements come together - costume, lighting, scenery and props. Rapunzel's tower was unrecognisable from the bare scaffolding poles I saw in the barn back in November. The Hair-O-Matic 6000 was unveiled in all it's glory, fully primed to dispense celebrity hairstyles.
The Children's Chorus are as delightful as ever, bewitching us as sparkling butterflies and dancing flamingos.
Look out for the scissors in Dame Penny's wig (repurposed from the Christmas Tree Festival) and the 'scary' wolf dancing to 'Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes'. Do wolves even have toes?
The cast managed to get to the end of the rehearsal with zero prompts and were able to draw breath and relax for 24 hours, ready to wow audiences at the seven performances over the next four days.
We still have some tickets available for this evening's performance. Book at www.ticketsource.co.uk/lvp and use the code PANTO to get a last minute 10% discount!
All other shows are sold out online. We will have 14 tickets available for each show on the door. These are situated at the back of the hall and are accessed up a large step. They will be available on a first-come first-served basis for each performance and cannot be pre-booked or reserved. Doors open 45 minutes before each performance.
