Hummingbird
Written by Cath Moyse - Wed 13th Nov 2024
We arrived at The Hummingbird Centre for our photoshoot on Saturday morning to the lovely smell of incense burners and essential oils. Mechelle welcomed us and showed us round the amazing facility, explaining how she had been inspired by her late father to set up a centre to help all those affected by cancer. We are very proud to be supporting such a worthwhile cause as our nominated charity for this year’s pantomime, Beauty and The Beast.
The actual costumes for the show are still being worked on by our wonderful wardrobe team, so Celia and Julia had raided the storeroom at the farm to bring along some suitable outfits. Beth had also turned up in a Halloween witch outfit complete with broomstick (or maybe she always dresses like that!). Kate relished the chance to dress up as the thigh-slapping Prince Valiant - this made a welcome change from the shaggy Beast costume. Natasha as the cheeky Good Fairy and Nicky as our heroine Beauty completed the foursome for our photoshoot.
We were able to take full advantage of the various locations around the centre, posing for pictures in the cosy barn, the relaxation rooms and outside by the Christmas tree. Passing traffic kept disrupting our recordings of Silenis’ evil rants, but we got there in the end. Before we left, Kate couldn’t resist posing for pictures with the unicorn.
Look out on social media for our publicity photos and videos over the next few months and don’t forget to get your tickets at www.ticketsource.co.uk/lvp and help us support such a fantastic charity.
